Privacy policy
Pupa: Theme Sections ("Pupa", "the app") is provided by Pupa ("we", "us"). It adds ready-made sections to Shopify themes. This policy explains what the app collects when a merchant installs it, and what happens on the storefront of a store that uses it.
Information we collect from merchants
When you install Pupa, Shopify shares the following with us and we store it:
- Your store's myshopify.com domain.
- The access token and granted permissions Shopify issues for the app, so the app can load in your admin.
- Your progress through the in-app setup guide. This is saved in your own Shopify store as app data.
Pupa asks for one permission: read access to your themes. It uses it to check whether your published theme supports app sections and to open the theme editor in the right place. Pupa cannot change your theme's code.
If you email us for support, we also receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
Information we do not collect
- Your customers. Pupa does not request, read or store customer names, emails, addresses, orders or payment details.
- Your shoppers. The sections Pupa adds to your storefront set no cookies, run no analytics or tracking, and send nothing about your visitors to us or to anyone else.
- Payment information. Pupa is free and never asks for billing details.
How we use information
We use the information above only to run the app for your store, to keep it secure, and to answer support requests. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Section files (styles, scripts and the images you choose) are stored and served by Shopify. The app itself runs on a hosting provider that processes the information above on our behalf. We otherwise share information only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your store's session data while the app is installed. When you uninstall Pupa it is deleted, and Shopify removes the app's data from your store. Any remaining data is erased when Shopify sends us its shop data erasure request, 48 hours after uninstall. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, contact us at contact@pupadesigns.in. If you are a shopper of a store that uses Pupa, we hold no information about you; please contact that store directly.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
