FAQ
Common questions
Is Pupa really free?
Yes. Every section and every style is free. There is no subscription, no trial and no credit card, so there is nothing to upgrade or cancel.
Which themes does Pupa work with?
Any Online Store 2.0 theme, including Dawn, Horizon and most themes released since 2021. After you install, the setup guide checks your published theme for you.
Does Pupa change my theme's code?
No. Sections are added as app blocks through Shopify's theme editor. Your theme files stay untouched, and if you uninstall Pupa the sections simply stop showing.
Will it slow down my store?
Sections load only on the pages where you add them. Styles are scoped to each section, most sections use little or no JavaScript, and images are sized for each screen and lazy loaded.
Can I add sections to product, collection or blog pages?
Yes. You choose the page type when you add a section, and you can also add sections straight from the theme editor under Add section, then Apps.
How do I match my brand's colors and fonts?
Sections use your theme's fonts automatically. Colors, spacing and layout are in each section's settings, and every section has a Custom CSS field for fine-tuning.
Do the sections work on phones?
Yes. Sections have mobile settings such as padding, layout and image shape, and they support right-to-left languages and reduced-motion preferences.
A section is not showing on my live store. Why?
First make sure you clicked Save in the theme editor. A few sections wait for real content before shoppers see them: Product highlight needs a product, Testimonials needs at least one review, Before / after needs both photos, and a Promo banner hides itself after its end date.
